Exhibiting at the Fair
Over 4,000 open class exhibits are entered in the McLeod County fair each year! There are a variety of different departments, classes and lots that define how and where an exhibit should be entered. Exhibiting at the fair is open to everyone, general exhibits have no entry fee (livestock does), and depending on how you place, you’ll have a premium check (prize money!) to pick up from the fair office on the last night of the fair!

How To Enter Projects:
Open the Premium Book file. Select your desired department (ex. Department 18: Flowers). Within each department, you will find different classes. Within each class, select the specific lot that matches the description of your entry. Either record these entries on a paper entry form and submit it to the fair office, OR choose to enter online through the link provided. Registration of your exhibits in advance allows the fair to prepare your entry tags in advance and help the entry process go quickly! Feel free to contact the fair office with any questions or help walking you through the process!
Your actual exhibit(s) need to be brought to the fair on TUESDAY for entry day. Bring them directly to the exhibit buildings from NOON – 7:00 pm. Reference the map in the Exhibitor’s Book for help. No entries will be accepted after 7:00 pm. An entry tag with your name and description of your entry will be ready and waiting for you! From there, fair volunteers will display your entry and get it ready for judging. Judging is done privately on Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning and results will be ready and displayed on Thursday at 9:00 am when the fair opens. Your entries can be picked up and taken home after 7:00 pm on Sunday. Don’t forget to stop in the Fair Office Sunday for a premium check – depending on how your entries do, you may win some prize money! Best of luck to you and your entries!
